It was very inspirational to see it, and even more inspirational to see the little shed that Bill Hewlett lived in next to the garage at the very beginning. Is that really the garage where HP started? Man, I need to save those pictures to remind myself that you should never despise the day of small beginnings! That is really excellent. At one stage, I doubted whether you could do that again these days but now I'm confident that the way the industry has gone it is still possible to start your business from your garage and be successful. Not sure if those are for sale. I did have the pleasure of meeting Lucas Ng this week, who came over to San Jose for the conference from Australia, but I know that isn't an option for many people. Kim, The airport gods are good to me. The highway gods, not so much. I also find that the cost of a flight from Baltimore is often cheaper than out of Philadelphia. I just checked, and a direct flight in early December from BWI is about $65 cheaper ($224) than out of Philadelphia ($289) from the same airline.
