I will be joining Rand Fishkin of SEOmoz and Jon Glick of Become.com on a panel focusing upon Search Algorithm Research at the New York Search Engine Strategies Conference on February 28, 2006.
If you are going to attend the conference or are in the New York City area during that week and want to meet up or say hello, please let me know. I had a great time at last year’s SES in New York and met many great folks. I’m looking forward to attending this year.
Look forward to seeing you there, Bill. 🙂
Hi John,
I do hope I get the chance to run into you at the conference this year. It’s great getting to actually meet people whom you’ve had some conversations with on the forums.
Definitely. I only went to one SES before, NY last year, and it was fun meeting a few of the folks I know online. 🙂
Last year’s SES in New York was the first one I went to also. I even think that I saw you briefly one night, maybe when I was running out the door of the hotel to join some folks for dinner.
Good luck Bill. I’d have loved to have seen you speak.
Thanks, Sophie. 🙂
Maybe someday we’ll see a Cre8asite Conference down under. I’d like that.
Bill,
Unfortunately I won’t be able to attend SES NY, but should be meeting up with John at SES Tokyo.
Very happy to hear you’ll be speaking with Rand. If all goes well, I’m sure the panel can be extended to the Birds of a Feather table and the Cre8 dinner 🙂
I was seriously thinking of doing a Wesley Clark style “Draft Bill Slawski” campaign to get other SEO types and bloggers to pressure Danny into inviting you. It would have also been excellent link bait. Looks like the campaign won’t be needed afterall.
Best, Loren
Thanks, Loren. I’m excited by the chance to speak. It should be fun.
Any chance of you speaking at the SES Tokyo? 🙂 I don’t see a list of speakers up for the event yet.
Ha. Now that would be cool. I’ll mail Danny when he gets back from his Ski trip.
Maybe John and I could host a panel.
I could wear my samurai outfit.
Sorry Bill, I tried an image in that last post. Here’s the location:

Great picture, Loren. I’m not sure that there have been many samuri of your stature.
Congrats on speaking Bill 🙂
It is amazing how much research you dig up here. Am sure you will do a great job.
Thanks for the encouragement, Aaron.
I’m looking forward to the presentation, and even more to catching up with some folks I haven’t seen in a while.
Hope to see you there.
Hi Bill,
I just got to your blog for the first time and looks like I’m already late to the party. But I was already looking forward to attending that panel in particular, and now will do so for sure. (If i don’t freeze & break first).
Loren, the samurai outfit pic was hilarious. I don’t know if I’m amused or frightened.
Hi Abhilash,
It does look like cold weather again in New York this year for the NY SES. I hope that you come up and say hello. It would be nice to meet a real life Link Ninja. (Sounds like a fun time in Troy.)
At 6’4″ or so, Loren is no probably the biggest samuri I’ve ever seen. Hey, ninjas and samuri don’t get along well, do they? 🙂
